Bright moonlight made viewing and photographing
the 2002 Leonid shower very difficult, but bright
meteors could still be captured with the bonus of
having the landscape illuminated by the full moon.
Unfortunately bright meteors appeared to be very
infrequent this year.
This photo was taken just after the radiant had
risen above this ridge to the east. The "head"
of Leo can just be seen. The bright object in
the sky is Jupiter.
