Our position was ~80km south of Jalu, Libya at a camp set up specifically for the eclipse event. The duration of totality was a little more than 4 minutes. Sky conditions were very good - no clouds and little wind and dust. Prior to the eclipse Venus was clearly visible and shadow bands were visible on the desert sand. A temperature drop from 92°F to 70°F was noted. For more on the complete trip, here is Jean's write-up.
