Dear fellow kenshi and iaidoka,
The Southern California Iaido Association (SCIA) is very pleased to host a
two-day iaido seminar featuring guest instructor, Katsuo Oda sensei from
Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Oda sensei is a member of the Zen Nippon Kendo
Renmei (ZNKR) Iaido Committee and carries the ranks of hanshi 8 dan in iaido
and kyoshi 7 dan in kendo. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe,
Australia, Canada, South America and here in the United States conducting
seminars.
The seminar will be held on the following dates and location:
Saturday, February 11, 2012 and Sunday, February 12, 2012
Pasadena Buddhist Temple Gymnasium, Pasadena, California
An additional two-hour iaido class will be held on Friday evening, February
10, 2012 at the Southeast Japanese School and Community Center (Norwalk Kendo
Dojo) in Norwalk, California.
A shinsa for those requesting ranks up to 1 dan may be offered during the
afternoon of Sunday, February 12, 2012, if there is enough interest and a
proper grading panel is convened.
The seminar/class schedule, fees, application/waiver form and additional
information can be found in the pages to follow. All applications and fees
must be received by Friday, February 3, 2012 or a late fee will be charged.
