Dear Federation Presidents and Senseis:
The 1st Junior Team USA Training Camp was a
huge success, with over 50 participants from all over the United States.
We are happy to announce the 2nd Junior Team USA Training Camp has been
scheduled for the weekend of September 27-29, 2013 in Santa Clara, CA.
A stipend of $500 will be provided to each federation outside the hosting
region that sends at least one kenshi to participate (to be used to assist
kenshi(s) in costs to attend). The participation fee per kenshi will be $50.
Thanks to strong encouragement from our membership, this program will now be
open to both boys AND girls!
We have attached the relevant documentation for the Program. Waivers and
Particpant Information forms are required only of NEW participants to the
Junior Team USA Program. All participating kenshi must be recommended/approved
by the local federation. Please send one application per federation no later
than September 1st, 2013 to our attention at the following email address:
teamusakendo@gmail.com.
After September 1st, we will reach out to the individual participants to
complete the individual Participant Information and Waiver Forms.
The Training Camp will be held in Santa Clara, California (No.Cal) at the
following address.

The training camp will begin on Friday evening (9/27),
continue all day Saturday (9/28) and half-day Sunday (9/29). We encourage
particpants to arrive on the afternoon of Friday (9/27) to join the keiko
starting at 7pm Friday evening. Participants can plan to depart as early
as Sunday afternoon (no earlier than 3pm).
- All participants will stay together in a local hotel in order to
encourage team bonding for two nights - 9/27 (Friday) check-in through 9/29
(Sunday) check-out. Cost of lodging to be provided by AUSKF. Junior Team USA
instructors will also stay at the hotel to supervise. As we get closer to
the date of the event, we will send additional instructions on hotel
information.
- Transport to and from airport will be arranged by Junior Team USA Staff.
For those who are flying to Santa Clara, please send us your flight details
and we will arrange for pickup.
- Attached, please find a copy of the waiver and participant information
forms. Every participant must submit both forms, if not done already. You
may either scan and email it to teamusakendo@gmail.com.
