Norwalk Kendo Camp, 8/14/10
  • rough schedule
    • arrive by 7:30am so we can start promptly at 8am
    • all kenshi and parents please attend opening presentation (parents will have sessions in both am and pm)
    • morning: kyu training by senseis assisted by yudansha
    • lunch 12pm
    • afternoon: shiai training and misc activities for everyone
    • dinner 6pm
    • after dinner: yudansha training

  • what to bring
    • keikogi, hakama, bogu, shinai, tenugui
    • if needed: tape, protectors, etc
    • extra shinai
    • street clothes to change into for lunch and dinner
    • hangers for keikogi and hakama
    • optional: extra keikogi, tenugui

  • other tips
    • eat and drink something light before arriving in the morning
    • be sure to drink (moderately) during the breaks
    • pace yourself, especially if competing at Nikkei Games on Sunday

  • parents
    • we need your help!
    • parents of minor children especially, please be present
    • there will be some sessions for the parents as well

    • yudansha: Chung Alex (after 5pm), Yoon Brian, Yook Kenn (until 1pm), Amano Shotaro, Shibata Takuro, Domen Sumi, Kariya Yoshijiro
    • senseis: Yoshimura Steve, Kodama Jean, Henmi sensei, Yagamuchi sensei

    • tarp, tables, chairs in quadrant next to kitchen
    • one table each court for sensei use
    • pa system, wireless mikes
    • ready clothes racks, fans
