We are looking forward to another great year at Norwalk Dojo.

- Fri 1/4/19: Norwalk Dojo first keiko of 2019
Quick review of dojo policies:
- new beginners
start on 1st Friday practice of odd numbered months.
Please encourage friends and relatives to join; we
especially need kids!
- etiquette is of primary
importance in kendo
- 3kyu and above (and sometimes below!) should be able to lead
warm up exercises
- 2dan and above should be able to lead
kihon-dosa exercises
- kenshi in full bogu expected to participate in
- monthly tournament
(last Mon odd, last Fri even months)
- 3kyu and above: Fri ato-geiko
- to advance in rank: see the
promotion page
- notify the dojo in writing for lengthy absences (send email to
norwalkkendo@gmail.com)
Thank you to Yang sensei (CM) for practicing with us.
A huge thank you to the moms for preparing the delicious zenzai
and freshly made mochi with all the fixings!

Thank you to Van Zutphen sensei for practicing with us, and for
joining us at iaido practice.
Congratulations to Liao Steve for winning the Tozando
Win a Trip to Japan contest! During his trip, he
had several Norwalk tenugui signed by the famous Nishimura Hirohisa
sensei (2018 and 2017 AJKF Champion).
We will use these tenugui for perfect attendance awards.
- Sat 1/12/19:
SCKF
godo geiko; board meeting, Chuo 6pm; 7:30pm
Norwalk has host toban duties, so all yudansha especially sensei
please plan to attend.
- Sun 1/13/19:
SCKF New Year's Party, Almansor Court
Kodama Jean and Kariya Yoshijiro are attending.
- Sun 1/20/19: SCKF Open Memorial Tournament, Wilson Park
Norwalk participants include Liao William (0-6 kyu), Fu Linda
(women's dan), Chang Jeffrey (4dan and above), Cho In Ho and Kodama
Jean (senior). Shinpan include Kariya Yoshijiro, Kodama Jean.
Okuno sensei will perform iaido enbu.
Congratulations to Cho sensei for receiving kantosho for senior
division!
