Dear sensei We are pleased to invite you to the 2007 SCKO Individual Kendo Championships. The tournament will be held on Sunday, October 14th, at Cabrillo High School in Long Beach. Please review the attached Invitation Packet for information and application forms. It is our hope that this tournament will contribute in promoting the education of younger generations of kenshis and the advancement of kendo in the United States. The motto of our tournament is "KOH-KEN-CHI-AI", which can be loosely translated as "Development of Goodwill through the Crossing of Swords". We hope that all participants will enjoy both establishing new friendships and making already existing relationships even richer. The coming 2007 SCKO Individual Kendo Championships are expected to gather more competitors and spectators from all over the United States. We are planning to make this event even more exciting and enjoyable for both competitors and spectators than last year's tournament. For the smooth operation of this event I would like to ask each dojo to brin sufficient tasukis (both red & white) for all its own players. Also I would like to ask for your support by providing judges (3 dan and above) and at least one volunteer from your dojo. (For details, please see the information packet.) As the president of SCKO I would also like to thank all sensei and families of kenshi for their continued support and generosity, including the invaluable instruction of students and other volunteer work. Thank you Hayato Okawa SCKO Tournament Coodinator
