letter from SCIA
Dear fellow kenshi and iaidoka,
The Southern California Iaido Association (SCIA) is very pleased to host
an iaido seminar featuring guest instructor, Katsuo ODA sensei from
Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Oda sensei is a member of the Zen Nippon Kendo
Renmei (ZNKR) Iaido Committee and carries the ranks of Hanshi 8 dan in
iaido and Kyoshi 7 dan in kendo. He has traveled extensively throughout
Europe, Australia, Canada, South America and here in the United States
conducting seminars. Also, this will be Oda sensei’s third consecutive
year visiting Southern California.
The seminar will be held on the following dates and location:
Saturday, February 16, 2013 and Sunday, February 17, 2013
Orange County Buddhist Church, Multipurpose Building Gymnasium (OCB Kendo
Dojo), Anaheim, California
An additional two-hour iaido class will be held on Friday evening,
February 15, 2013 at the Southeast Japanese School and Community Center
(Norwalk Kendo Dojo) in Norwalk, California.
If there is enough participation and a proper grading panel can be
assembled, a shinsa (up to and including 1 dan) will be held in lieu of
a seminar on Sunday, February 17.
The seminar/class schedule, fees, application/waiver form and additional
information can be found in the pages to follow. All applications and fees
must be received by Friday, February 8, 2013 or a late fee will be charged.
Please feel free to copy and distribute the package to any interested
individuals.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not
hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to seeing you in February!
Kind regards,
Dennis Ralutin
Southern California Iaido Association (SCIA)
