The Central California Kendo Federation is hosting the 2019 All California Open Kendo Tournament in Fresno, California, over Labor Day weekend.

• Shiai Rules:
  • Competitors can only participate in one individual division
  • Time Limits
    • All individual divisions except Yudansha and Senior: 3 minutes, 1 minute encho, hantei (except semifinals and finals)
    • Individual Yudansha & Senior divisions: 4 minutes, 1 minute encho, hantei (except semifinals and finals)
    • Team Competition: 3 minutes, no encho
      in case of tie: ippon shobu daihyosen
  • Participants must supply their own mejirushi
  • Shinpan must wear shinpan uniform (coat and tie)
• Toban:
  • 6 courts (one each NCKF, SCKO, WKF, CCKF; two SCKF)
    each court: 2 coordinators, 2 scorekeepers, 2 timekeepers, 1 recorder, 2 tasuki
  • 40 shinpan, 3dan and above as recommended by each federation

  • Not knowing when the official entry forms will be sent, I have made an early entry forms for SCKF (see xlsx)
  • Other notes:
    1. We will need volunteers to help man the court duties for 2 courts
    2. Anyone who is planning to try out for Team SCKF are highly recommended to sign up for this tournament.
    3. They are asking a lot of shinpans for this tournament, please make an effort for signing up for shinpan. Must wear shinpan uniform.
    4. Bento amount is not set. They are projecting the bento cost would be $12 to $13 per bento. Please do not send a check until official entry form is sent out. There is no complementary bentos for shinpans and volunteers.
